It’s 2015 and the legend’s music still lives on in my heart, mind and soul. Today rootsnwingz remembers and celebrates Bob Marley and his life’s work with a classic tune: “Misty Morning”. Listen & Share in HD audio quality.
These two excellent videos were an impressive and wonderful way for Midnite and Chronixx with Inner Circle to kick off 2015. Roots & Culture Everytime!

Best known for his hit tune “Ganja Farmer”, Marlon Asher, the Trinidadian reggae singer from Enterprise, Chaguanas, returns to the frontline with a brand new powerful song and video against police brutality. Marlon Asher’s perfect flow, positive vibes and conscious, original and notably relevant lyrics depicting the sad, unjust sociopolitical climate, combined with a big sound, reaffirm his singing talent and ability to create reggae masterpieces. “Babylon Brutality” is the first single off Marlon’s upcoming album “Illusions”, out January 13th 2015. I am happy to see Marlon making quality productions once again and getting the recognition he truly deserves. I await the new album’s release in anticipation and with high hopes. Enjoy & share the excellent reality tune & video here!
A big tune from Holland, I’ve loved this one longtime. Off the Rootsriders album “So Much More”. The video is shot on the beautiful island of St. Eustatius in the Caribbean. Blessed vibes, a positive, inspirational message and great performance by all the artists!
The brand new music video / short film by Damian Marley, off the upcoming compilation “Ghetto Youths International Presents Set Up Shop Vol. 2” (out December 23!, was directed and shot in Morocco by acclaimed directors Nabil Elderkin and Francesco Carrozzini and features renowned French – Moroccan actor Saïd Taghmaoui, best known for his roles in “La Haine” and “Three Kings”. Remarkably well made, the short film provides significant insight into the life, mind and conscience of a “gunman”, i.e. a contracted, mercenary killer. The “Is it Worth it?” message is powerful and successfully delivered through memorable and realistic visual scenes depicting both the violence and humanity of the killer. May not be suitable for all audiences as it contains graphic violence that may be unsuitable to some viewers. Watch the full official video in high definition here.
Yes, you read correctly. Canadian international reggae artist Darrin Kenneth O’Brien aka “Snow”, best known for his 1993 hit “Informer”, is back! This past summer, Snow signed with Bugatti Music Entertainment and, with the guidance of producers Kent Jones and Grammy wining duo Cool & Dre, created this massive tune to explain his disappearance from the music scene in the U.S. And what’s more, the tune features the legend Michael Rose, former lead singer of Black Uhuru. Two amazing reggae veterans with original and timeless vocal styles; their flow and lyricism have been left intact by the passing of time, which is why the video is so awesome to watch. As Mykal Rose sings: “Some ah dem nah really know we boss”. A must watch and listen!
All proceeds from “Shame” will be donated to the fight against Cancer.

Unofficial lyric video of a great song by Greek reggae band “Kako Synapantima”, on the classic “Solomon” riddim. The lyrics are a clever and ironic commentary on city life and particularly the current tragico-comic security measures in Athens and Thessaloniki (The increased presence of police and army in the streets, discrimination, abuse of power and especially undercover informas). Video made by rootsnwingz, lyrics are in Greek and were transcribed by rootsnwingz.

Tribute to Nelson Mandela, produced by Black Solidarity. Amazing riddim! I predict that the “A Letter To Nelson Mandela” riddim will soon become very popular again as it is used in the upcoming OBF Dubplate “Freedom Fighter”, featuring crazy good lyrics and vocals by Mr. Williamz. The dubplate is yet to be released so I’ve also embedded a live video with decent audio of OBF playing it at Garance Dub Station 2014. Lemme see unu hand if you love Nelson Mandela, the great freedom fighter from outta South Africa!

Very nice video of Tarrus Riley and the Black Soil Band, performing “Burning Desire” off Tarrus’s 2014 album “Love Situation”. A lovers rock reggae tune with clever lyrics, an upright bass and fulla vibes…
Jamaican reggae band and dub poetry group “No-Maddz” present their brand new official music video “Getting to Zero”, directed by Kurt Wright. A groovy riddim and powerful, touching and educational message on AIDS discrimination in Jamaica and the rest of the world. A great positive video, released today, World Aids Day, to accompany a great song. Respect to the youths of No-Maddz for contributing to another important cause by effectively raising awareness and by educating on the social seriousness and reality of AIDS and its prevention. Hawaiian Filipino singer Eli-Mac, aka Ciara-Camile Roque Velasco, released her debut reggae album “DubStop EP” last month. All five tracks are great thanks to Eli-Mac’s singular voice and the top-notch production by Live Animaux (J Boog, The Green, etc). I love her work so far and look forward to see what this artist has in store for us in the future!
Watch the awesome explicit official music video of “Dub Stop”, the first single off the EP:
Also, here’s her amazing collaboration with Japanese reggae singer, song writer, producer, club DJ and owner of an independent music label, Likkle Mai. Also off Eli-Mac’s new album, the track is entitled “Young Soul Rebels” and is a truly original dub reggae tune. A big tune all around, two unique female voices, a positive, uplifting message and some real heavy dub sounds from producers. I listen to this one on repeat. “Keep the keiki (meaning youth in Hawaiian) strong!”
Finally, here’s one of Eli-Mac’s first singles, “Guava Jelly”, a cover of Bob Marley’s hit. Produced in Jamaica by Stephen Marley, who also does some toasting on the track!
